Acting as one of the American Bar Association’s Section Advisors to the Drafting Committee on the Implementation of the 1996 Hague Convention on the Protection of Children, Ronald W. Nelson will participate in meetings September 24-25, 2011 in Washington DC towards updating the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act. Originally recommended for passage by the Uniform Law Commission, the UCCJEA has been enacted as law in 49 of the 50 U.S. States to govern what place has the power to enter and modify child custody orders after parents separate and divorce.
